Parking

Pay parking in the Parliamentary triangle commenced on 1 October 2014. The standard Schedule of Rates for car parks in the Parliamentary triangle is $2.50 per hour, $12.00 per day or $57.50 for a five day ticket.

The Parliament House public car park is the only public car park in the Parliamentary Triangle with a two-hours free parking period, so you may need to move your car if you are planning on staying for more than two hours.

 If you are arriving by taxi you will be dropped off in the main car park. Access to the main entrance of Parliament House is via the stairs or lift.

Accessing Parliament House

Please enter through the main front entrance. You will need to pass through security screening, similar to airport security.

Breakfast Start Times

You can access the main entrance of Parliament House main entrance from 6:30am. Please arrive in plenty of time to take your seat in the Great Hall for the breakfast that commences at 7:00am sharp. 

Cloaking

Cloaking facilities are available to store any coats or luggage you may have with you.

Spending more time in Parliament House

Visitors are able to view Question Time by arriving at the Public Galleries prior to 2:00pm on Monday. Please be sure to allow time for security screening before entering either gallery.

House of Representatives Question Time:

To book individual or group tickets for Question Time in the House of Representatives, please phone 02 6277 3880 before 12:45pm on the day. Collect the ticket(s) between 1:15pm and 1:45pm from the Cloak Room on the first floor near the House of Representatives Chamber.

Senate Question Time:

It is not necessary to book to view Question Time in the Senate.

Lunch and Refreshments

The Queen’s Terrace Café serves light meals and refreshments until 4:30pm. It is on the first floor above the main foyer. Wheelchairs are available for loan, at no charge.
